They are also widely available in many different morphs and are relatively cheap. Babies can be a little skittish but thats usually not a problem. A ball python, king snake, hog-nose snake are other good choices that can live perfectly in a 29 gallon. If you just forgot to put it down, a corn snake (as well as other snakes) will need a good substrate and should not be kept on just glass. Aspen wood shaving is a good choice and are fairly cheap. (even my rather aggressive one is still pretty awesome).. As far as feeders, go with frozen/thawed.. I'd highly recommend finding a reptile expo or something similar near you.. The ones sold at the big stores are much more expensive.. ( $10.99 for 4 adult mice at the store, 30 cents a piece at the expo) I use aspen bedding mainly, but the soft coconut bedding is nice as well. Feeding tongs are recommended.
